Female MBC weathercaster subjected to workplace bullying by colleagues leading to suicide in 2023

A deceased MBC weathercaster, Oh Yoanna, was subjected to workplace bullying by her colleagues prior to her suicide. The bullying involved MBC weathercasters Choi A Ri, Park Ha Myeong, Kim Ga Young, and Lee Hyun Seung, who excluded Oh Yoanna from a group chat and exchanged derogatory messages about her in KakaoTalk. The bullying occurred in late 2022 and continued into 2023, with the group chat logs revealing insults and criticism of Oh Yoanna’s work performance and personal habits. The bullies also expressed resentment after Oh Yoanna blocked them and criticized her for “playing the victim.” It was reported that Lee Hyun Seung and Kim Ga Young did not attend Oh Yoanna’s funeral. None of the four named weathercasters have responded publicly to the allegations.
