NO FAKES Act
The NO FAKES Act of 2025 aims to protect intellectual property rights in the voice and visual likeness of individuals by regulating the use of digital replicas. It establishes characteristics for rights to use digital replicas, including licensing and transferability, and requires the secretary of state to maintain a directory of post-mortem digital replication rights and designated agents. The bill addresses harms related to unauthorized use of biometric data and deepfake content.
