A doctor from Indore fell victim to a fake online trading scam involving a platform called WEBULL. An unknown woman contacted him through a messaging app, helped him register, and initially showed him good returns, building his trust. The scammers convinced him to invest over Rs 1 crore, and when he tried to withdraw funds, they demanded payments for tax, RBI clearance, and other fabricated fees. The victim made 64 transactions, losing a total of Rs 3,08,36,293 before realizing he had been scammed. Following the complaint, seven individuals were arrested in Indore, including those involved in managing the scam’s technical and financial operations. The incident occurred before Diwali and was reported after the victim discussed it with his son and filed a complaint through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
