WAND INVESTIGATES: A Deadly Click
Summary
A 15-year-old girl from Springfield, Illinois, experienced severe cyberbullying that escalated over several years, culminating in her suicide. The bullying began in middle school and intensified through social media platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, and Lemon8, where classmates targeted her in group chats and shared harmful content. The victim's parents were unaware of the full extent of the online harassment until after her death. Days before her suicide, she was sent a meme referencing the "Benadryl Challenge," which encouraged dangerous behavior and may have contributed to her decision to take a lethal dose of Benadryl. On June 25, 2025, she died by suicide. In the hours following her death, the bullies continued their online attacks, encouraging others to harm themselves.
