15-year-old girl sexually assaulted after drugged with ketamine via Snapchat contact with 44-year-old man
Summary
Gregg Riley, 44, targeted teenage girls on Snapchat, drugged one 15-year-old victim with ketamine, and took naked photos of her while she was semi-conscious in his Blackburn home. Riley also paid for Snapchat Premium subscriptions for other students at the same high school in East Lancashire and asked them for naked photos or shared sexual fantasies. Lancashire Police were alerted in July 2023 by a school safeguarding lead who raised concerns about multiple Year 8 and Year 10 students and Riley’s contact with them. Riley admitted to taking the victim to Blackpool, telling her he wanted to marry her at 16 and later engaging her in sexual activity and taking indecent images. He also sent another victim £200–£260 via PayPal after she sent him sexualized images and expressed fantasies involving necrophilia and unconsciousness. Riley was sentenced to 17 years in prison in April 2025, with an extended seven-year license period, an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
