A Petit Valley man was beaten and robbed by armed men in Maraval after meeting someone he had connected with on Instagram. The incident occurred around 11:45 pm on Sunday at a fast food outlet carpark on Saddle Road. The victim met a man of African descent, who then led him to Vallot Street and Harold Street, where two masked men joined and the trio assaulted him. The victim was robbed of his iPhone XS Max, bank and ID cards, $200 in cash, and the keys to his van. He flagged down police officers who later found his parked van missing. Police tracked his phone to Piccadilly Street, Port-of-Spain, but could not locate it or the vehicle.
