The victim, Curtis Groff, was hit by the vehicle while working at a cemetery and had set up traffic cones to alert drivers. The driver, Mikayla Mustard, was identified last year but was formally charged with homicide by vehicle and other offenses in May 2024. Mustard told investigators she was behind the wheel and was using Snapchat when the crash occurred. She was arraigned and released on $50,000 unsecured bail. Mustard is scheduled to return to court in June.
