A 26-year-old man from Braintree, Essex, was jailed for five years after creating and sharing deepfake nude images of 20 women online without their consent. The images were generated using artificial intelligence and posted on an online forum between March 2023 and May 2024. The man, Brandon Tyler, was arrested in May 2023 after one of the victims reported an intimate photo of herself had been shared without her knowledge. He pleaded guilty to 33 charges, including sharing intimate images for sexual gratification and harassment. Three of the victims spoke out about the severe impact on their mental health, including depression, anxiety, and a loss of trust in others. Tyler was also placed on the sex offenders' register and given an indefinite restraining order against his victims.
