Man loses Rs 2 lakh in work-from-home scam conducted via Google Pay and PhonePe

A Bengaluru man was arrested for duping a victim in a work-from-home fraud, in which the victim lost Rs 2.02 lakh. Between December 19, 2024, and June 20, the accused convinced the victim to make multiple payments through Google Pay and PhonePe. The payments were made under pretexts such as security deposit, account creation, and error modification charges. A total of 98 transactions were made by the victim during the scam.
