Dutch Crown Princess targeted in deepfake pornography attack for second time; 70 other women also victimized on MrDeepFakes
Summary
Princess Catharina-Amalia, 21-year-old heir to the Dutch throne, was targeted for the second time in a deepfake pornography attack. Her face was edited onto the bodies of pornographic actors using AI and uploaded to MrDeepFakes and other websites. The FBI collaborated with Dutch authorities to remove the content and shut down MrDeepFakes entirely. Approximately 70 other Dutch women were also targeted on the same network. No arrests have been made. Catharina-Amalia had previously been targeted in a similar attack in 2022, which she later wrote about in her undergraduate thesis at the University of Amsterdam titled 'Beyond Disclosure: Bridging the Gap Between the Artificial Intelligence Act and the Charter of Fundamental Rights with Deepfaked Bodies.'
