Bethany Eagle, Newquay, stalked by ex David Malone using GPS tracker on her car and hidden bedroom camera for 10 months
Summary
Bethany Eagle, a cleaning company owner from Newquay, Cornwall, was stalked by her ex-partner David Malone, 50, between January and November 2020. Malone secretly installed a GPS tracker on her car to monitor her movements, had a duplicate key made to take her vehicle, and fitted a hidden camera inside a clock in her bedroom. He also physically followed her while she jogged and took a long-range photograph of her on the cliffs at Watergate Bay, sending it to her with the message 'that is you btw.' Eagle described becoming increasingly paranoid, unable to sleep, suffering night terrors, and requiring counselling. The tracking device was discovered by a mechanic in November 2020. Malone pleaded guilty to stalking at Bodmin Magistrates' Court in May 2021 and was fined £1,600 with a five-year restraining order.
