30-year-old Hyderabad resident loses ₹7.9 lakh to scammer using Salman Khan's display picture to falsely claim loan sanction

The caller falsely claimed a Rs 50 lakh loan had been sanctioned in the victim’s name and asked for Rs 10 lakh in processing and other charges. The victim transferred Rs 7.9 lakh from accounts of known contacts to bank accounts provided by the fraudster. When the victim requested loan disbursement, the fraudster asked for an additional Rs 30,000 before the victim realized the scam and stopped payments. Salman Khan has been mentioned in the media for filing a nomination for the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll. The incident occurred in Hyderabad and was reported recently.
