AI Deepfake Aadhaar Scam Exposed in Ahmedabad; Four Accused Nabbed

A 36-year-old resident of Thaltej discovered that their UIDAI services, digital payment accounts, and DigiLocker had been compromised by fraudsters who used stolen OTPs and biometric data. The perpetrators accessed personal data through leaks or unauthorized means and used UCL kits at CSC centers to change Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers. Mohammed Kaif Patel generated AI-based blinking videos from social media images to bypass facial authentication systems, while Deep Gupta provided sensitive data such as Aadhaar numbers and alternate mobile numbers. The group used the compromised identities to open bank accounts and secure personal loans, locking the victim out of their own accounts and causing financial loss. The fraud was uncovered when unusual loan inquiries appeared in the victim’s credit report.
