Chinese Social Media Influencer 'Sister Orange' Arrested in Cambodia for Pig Butchering and Human Trafficking

Zhang Mucheng, a Chinese social media influencer known as 'Sister Orange' with over 100,000 followers, was arrested in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on charges of fraud and human trafficking. Cambodian authorities stated she worked with criminal gangs in Cambodia and China to traffic victims into scam compounds between October and November 2025. Her social media accounts were suspended following the arrest. The case drew international attention as a rare instance of an influencer-linked figure being held accountable in the transnational pig butchering ecosystem.
